Dupo, IL November 4, 2024 – Dupo Community Unit School District 196 is pleased to announce that all three of its schools – Dupo High School, Dupo Junior High School, and Bluffview Elementary School – have earned the "Commendable" designation on the 2024 Illinois Report Card. This significant achievement reflects the district's dedication to providing high-quality education and support for all students.
"We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families," said Dr. Victoria White. "This accomplishment is a testament to our collective commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement."
Key Highlights from the Illinois Report Card:
● Bluffview and Junior High Exceptional Growth: Students in grades 3-8 surpassed pre-COVID performance in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). The district also demonstrated exceptional cohort growth in Math and ELA, outpacing state averages.
● Dupo Junior High School Upgrades Designation: Dupo Junior High School, previously identified as "Targeted" due to the underperformance of students with disabilities, made remarkable progress. The school surpassed the state's cut score for this subgroup by 28.42 points, demonstrating the effectiveness of targeted interventions and support.
● Dupo High School is On-Track: Once again, Dupo High School consistently earns a “commendable” designation with a strong Freshmen on Track rate.
